Air Canada Vacations (ACV), in conjunction with Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), hosted an appreciation dinner for its top producing agents in Vancouver's Burnaby neighbourhood last week. 8 agents were treated to cocktails and dinner in a very intimate gathering at Joey restaurant, hosted by Marigold Frontuna, ACV's general manager of sales - Western Canada, Katie Olsson, ACV’s new area sales manager, Western Canada, and Blair Hirtle, account manager, LVCVA, Western Canada.

Vegas has always been a big seller for ACV from Vancouver, and agents are pleased to hear that there are now two daily non-stop flights from Vancouver, with a choice of morning or afternoon departure and return.

Marigold highlighted ACV's current promotions, including a hot special with air and three nights at 4-star hotels from $359 including taxes and fess. In addition, ACV is also offering a 10% discount on all MGM Resorts International packages, including the Bellagio, ARIA, Vdara, MGM Grand, The Signature, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur. Bookings must be made by March 27th with travel until September 30th.

Marigold also reminded agents that Vegas is great for groups, weddings, and meetings and incentives. Air Canada Altitude members also earn bonus qualifying miles and bonus Aeroplan miles when booking any air and hotel packages.

Blair is most excited about Las Vegas' new hockey team - the Golden Knights - debuting in the 2017-2018 NHL season. The team will play at the 20,000 capacity T-Mobile arena located between New York-New York and the Monte Carlo Resort. "Now Canadians have another reason to travel to Las Vegas, to watch a hockey game!"

Lastly, Blair announced that LVCVA will be holding a road show that will stop in Vancouver on May 18th. The theme will be "Vegas is GOLD". The intent is to build interest around what's new and exciting in Las Vegas in 2017. Details to follow.
