Calgary-based Custom Travel Solutions Inc.'s Beth Gardner has been chosen for the 16th annual W100 ranking of Canada's Top Female Entrepreneurs, produced by PROFIT, Canadian Business and Chatelaine.
Ranking Canada's Top Female Entrepreneurs on a composite score based on the size, growth rate and profitability of their businesses, the W100 profiles the country's most successful female business owners.
Published in the October issue of Canadian Business, the November issue of Chatelaine and online at PROFITguide.comt, the W100 is Canada's largest annual celebration of entrepreneurial achievement by women.
"I'm humbled by this award,” Gardner told PAXnewsWest. “I started the business in 1995 by myself and was happy to take back full control in July of this year.”
Gardner said Custom Travel Solutions, which also has an office in Canmore, Alberta, was built on five pillars: corporate, leisure, independents, associates and i-logistics.
She also explained how the company provides niche travel solutions to the booming oil and gas sector in Alberta.
“We also specialize in end-to end solutions for oil and gas companies’ crew rotations, where the crew members fly commercial air into Calgary and are [picked up] by charter aircraft to Fort McMurray, where they take a chopper out to the camp accommodations,” Gardner said. “We have a product that puts that all into one invoiced itinerary.”
Custom Travel Solutions’ future plans include collaborations with a local country- music radio station and chartered weekend getaways to Nashville, Tennessee complete with live country music performances on the plane.
“I’m also looking at expanding into the U.S., as we have a number of different clients that have U.S. requirements,” Gardner said.
Garnder also said that her teams in Calgary and Canmore play roles worthy of recognition.
“I just love my team that I work with everyday- they are the reason for the company’s success,” she said.
